Who we are
SideHustleTax operates the website at side-hustle-tax.co.uk. We are the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this website. For data protection enquiries or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@side-hustle-tax.co.uk. The data controller is registered in the United Kingdom.
What data we collect
Calculator inputs — stored locally in your browser only
The figures you enter into the calculator (salary, side-hustle income, expenses, etc.) are processed
entirely in your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers. We store a copy in your browser's
localStorage (under the key sht-calculator-v1) solely so that the calculator
can remember your figures if you return to the page. You can clear this data at any time by clearing
your browser's site data for side-hustle-tax.co.uk. We have no access to it.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (opt-in only)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site — which pages are visited, how long people spend on each, and what devices they use. This data helps us improve the calculator and content.
GA4 is not loaded unless you give your consent via the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. You can change your preference at any time using the "Manage preferences" button in our Cookie Policy.
When analytics is enabled, the following data is collected: pages visited, time on page, browser type and version, operating system, approximate location (country/region level only), and referral source. We do not enable Google Signals or any cross-site tracking features. Data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by their systems: policies.google.com/privacy.
Advertising — Google AdSense (opt-in only)
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on blog pages. AdSense is not loaded unless you consent via the cookie banner. If you decline advertising cookies, personalised adverts will not be shown. We do not collect any payment information; advertising revenue is handled entirely by Google.
Email enquiries
If you email us at hello@side-hustle-tax.co.uk, we will use your email address and the content of your message to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list. We retain email correspondence for up to 12 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Legal basis for processing
- Analytics and advertising cookies: Consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- Email enquiries: Legitimate interests in responding to communications directed to us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Cookies

You have the right to:

- Rectify inaccurate data
